Beautiful Differences

As our world population writhes in the pain of existence, we humans keep trying to organize everyone is neat little categories.  We divide ourselves by skin color, hair color, eye color, where we grew up, where we went to school or college, who our ancestors were, which yoga pants we choose, the car we drive, the neighborhood we live in, which side of the political pendulum you hang from.  Are these categories meant to make people feel special?  Are they made to divide us?

My thought, if we keep drawing lines and defining ourselves by our differences, we each will end up alone in our little chained off space.  No two of us are alike and that is such a gift.  We need to celebrate our uniqueness and share what makes each of us special, instead of marking out those thick, dark lines that separate us because of our variations.  Why would we ever want to be like anyone else?  Why would you not want to cheer about all your incredible, incomparable characteristics?

I feel, we need to drop all forms of categorizations of human beings.  We need to view each other in utter amazement.  From the moment of conception, we have all been miracles.  Our birth story, our childhood, our formative years and our adulthood is only our story.  Every happy moment, every obstacle we overcame and every tragedy we survived, makes us who we are.  Celebrate all that!  Celebrate your uniqueness!  Celebrate that you got to choose how to overcome difficulties that made you stronger, and the times you got to breeze through because you were at the top of your game.

Look in that mirror!  Really look at yourself.  That mole, it is beautiful, because it is you.  That scar, it proves you healed and are a survivor.  That slight blue hue in the left corner of your eye, that is unique to only you!  No one can define you or categorize you or any other human in this world.  No one wants to be in that single chained in square because of all the difference that make us up.  Stand up and let everyone see you in all your beautiful glory and invite those surrounding you to do the same.  No definition fits any two people!  Break free of any category and just be who you are!  Love who you are!  Share who you are!  And allow others to do the same!
